231. | A little lesson organized into a map

Summary

I caught it, I tasted it, I'll show you.

Every day I come across lists that tell the secret.

I’ve posted these before on my blog. These were the posts called “Reincarnation contract” and “6 things you should never tell people.

My favorite is still the poem “Portia Nelson: Autobiography in Five Short Chapters.” By the way, I still think that this poem is the best map for a person on the path of self-knowledge. But I may be wrong…

I’ve been seeing these lists differently for the past many months. I’ve never really believed in lists that offer solutions. This belief of mine is much stronger today.

But for some reason, this list caught my attention with its first point, so I read it all the way through. Then it showed me the reason why I was dealing with it.

A dozen pieces of advice

Advice.

Just a word. But I’m at a point on my journey where I don’t know what my relationship is with this word.

So I’m moving on with this title!

A dozen of teachings

I received a 12-point essence in the school of life. Here it is:

  1. Wake up early and always see the beautiful rising sun.
  2. Meditate to enjoy the essence of enjoying the present.
  3. Don’t overthink about the future. Everything happens for a reason.
  4. Never fear, because there is nothing to fear.
  5. Visualize your dream lifestyle every day.
  6. Strongly believe you will live that lifestyle for sure.
  7. Listen more and speak less.
  8. The pain and worry you are facing now will fade away.
  9. Be you. Live by your values.
  10. Never expect anything. It’s the gateway for a happy life.
  11. Be bold to stay alone.
  12. Always set your heart on the divine.

The list grabbed me with its first point. It really resonated with me. By the time I got to the end, I decided to examine it in terms of my own life.

I immediately saw the list with the eyes of what I – so to speak – have and what I want to work on. The rest is not interesting (right now?) in my life.

It is already present in my life (7)

2. Meditation.
I’ve written about it before, more than once. So I have nothing to add to this now.

3. I don’t think too much about the future.
I deal with it much less than I used to. Everything happens for a reason? I believe in this idea with all my heart. I would like to put this as a separate point on the list, because it deserves more than a second part of the sentence.

4. I am not afraid.
I wrote about it. But the second part of the sentence makes me think: “because you have nothing to fear.” My first thought about this was “of course, there is always something to be afraid of, it’s just a question of dealing with this feeling.” But then I somehow slipped deeper.

I formulated it that if I acknowledge that there is fear, that there is something to be afraid of, then I have actually given space to fear and already created one. This is my true feeling about this topic. So I agree 100% with the other half of the sentence: “because you have nothing to fear.”

8. It will pass
Yes. Sometimes slower, sometimes faster, but it will pass.

According to my current ideas, it will definitely pass. What makes life difficult for many of us is that we cling to the problem for some reason. I know the experiences of many other people. I have seen the easy way and the hard way. I have also experienced pain.

And I also cling to them, who knows why. Maybe we are coded that way. After a while, we don’t even notice that the original problem is no longer there, we have created others in its place.

I met someone who said that if there is no shit in his life, then he does it for himself, because for him this is security. Yesterday I was talking to a friend of mine who is in a situation that simply has no solution for years. We haven’t spoken for a year. Yesterday I heard peace in his voice. He said that the situation is the same now as last time, but he already talked about it as waiting for years to pass when he can move on. I was proud of him.

The problem will pass, but my pride about it will not.

9. Be yourself.

I’m trying.

In an increasingly visible way.

10. Never expect anything.

I hope I’m on the right track to this.

I don’t expect much anymore, but sometimes I find myself on this path.

Is this the entrance to a happy life?

This is a second sentence. I still need to work on this, but this point definitely has a place in this part of my life.

11. Be brave to be alone.
:o)

I have to work with it (4)

I work with these if I want to. Or if something forces me to work.

1. Sunrise
I know the beginning. I just want to participate more in it and it’s up to me.

I will enjoy it more.

5. and 6. Vision of the future
I have an inner calling for this, and in fact, this topic was discussed earlier this week with the help of a friend.

Vision of the future is very important, and I have been loosening this rein a little for a while.

I have an inner urge to work with it.

7. Listen more and talk less.

I already have the attention.

I also have the intention to talk less, but I still need to improve on this. It is an inner urge to improve on this, so I try to practice.

I don’t know where to put it (1)

12. Always direct your heart to the divine.

I can’t place this thought on my own map yet.

I certainly haven’t practiced this yet, and until I understand what it means to me, I can’t say I’m dealing with it.

Life will show me this when I need it!

Why this list?

I could just breathe with it.

I have half of this advice in my life and I love it. I need a lot of it because I can see the impact these points can have on my life.

The only separate point also resonates with me because I deal with it.

I didn’t make the list, but if I had my own, this would be a strong foundation for it.
