My CV

With this task, you can guess that I am not starting from scratch. Like every job seeker in the business world, I have a current CV, so I do not need to prepare it now. However, I have been working at my current workplace since the summer of 2023, so the professional things that have happened since then have not yet been included in my CV, nor has the fact that I work at my current workplace. So I had some work to do to place the necessary information in the document, thus creating the current version.

Or versions, because my CV is always prepared in Hungarian and English, with the same content.

I have prepared a summary of what I have to do only in relation to the CV. I will add some explanation to this.

1. Updating the CVs – Hungarian and English – in Word.
2. Create a sendable PDF format from both versions.
3. Updating my CV on schulmann.hu.
4. Creating the English version here in addition to the Hungarian CV.
5. Uploading the updated PDF files to schulmann.hu.
6. Creating an easier-to-read link to the CV page on schulmann.hu.
7. Placing this simple link on the online-dentist.hu page as well.

Explanation:

1. I wrote about the first point earlier.
2. You need to create a pdf format from files edited in Word, because this is the way to send them, and most sites allow you to upload it.
3. Years ago, I made my introduction available online on the schulmann.hu site. So the update needs to be done here too.
4. However, only the Hungarian version exists on this site, so now I need to create the English version as well.
5. In addition to the online version, the pdf format can also be downloaded on this site, so the updated versions in point 1 need to be uploaded there.
6. The online version can be found here on the site: https://www.schulmann.hu/istvan/soma-vagyok/schulmann-istvan-oneletrajz/. Instead of the hard-to-read link, I will create a simpler one – https://www.schulmann.hu/istvan/cv – that will take you to the page above.
7. Finally, I will place this shortened link for the word online-dentist.hu CV. I don’t create my resume directly on this blog so that it only needs to be maintained in one online place.

Job search sites

I worked with two sites over the weekend. One is toptal.com and the other is fiverr.com. After registering for remoteok.com, it occurred to me that I should collect the data that can be used for all sites in a separate database, so I will probably save time by copying the data that needs to be uploaded everywhere and formatting the mandatory introductory texts on almost every site. Also, if I solve this task, it will be easier for me to work with the changes that need to be applied to each site later. Because – my experience so far shows this – there are, there will be points in my introduction that only come to mind later, or that get focus later.

So before the actual registrations, I created a collection form to organize the data. You can imagine how much time such a task takes, right?

Entering the data is a simple but time-consuming process. I had to upload my CV right away. After verifying my identity and uploading all the relevant data, I couldn’t wait to see the job offers.

But I didn’t get there. I received a system message that my application was being validated, and I would be notified of the result within 48 hours.

The notification arrived on Sunday morning. It clearly stated that there were many applicants, the number of job offers was limited, so my request was put on a waiting list. In other words, I wasn’t prepared enough for my data to appear immediately. Of course, they put it very nicely.

That’s when I realized that toptal is an abbreviation for Top Talented, and that’s when I realized what the website says about itself:

My flowery mediocrity wasn’t enough for Sunday, so I managed to continue my search with another excellent site.

You won’t find any job offers on this site either. This is a collection site where freelancers and my fellow workers who offer occasional jobs offer their services.

Well, in what form!? I’ll probably be working a lot with this site in the coming weeks. If I just spend my time watching how and what the 18,000+ enterprising colleagues I’ve collected in so many categories advertise, and with what professionalism… Well, you can learn from the best, and at first glance, there are hundreds of professionals on this site.

Apart from the form, you can gather a lot of information about the details of the offer. About the methods and tools used for each job. About the variety of pricing, about prices determined based on experience, packages available, guarantees, etc.

The two sites confirmed the idea that although the departure is still 215 days away, it is not that far away. After all, the most important element of moving towards the future is stable, pre-organized work.

Also, I had to take out one of the serious tools of many years of self-development for Sunday afternoon: I had to strengthen myself in my spirit that the first unpleasant experiences should not dampen my spirits, and despite the fact that success was not achieved the first two times, I moved forward again and continue doing my job with unwavering determination. Far from me is despair and giving up, but I was not cheerful in this area on Sunday.
