This Google Maps map is a collection of markers that represent memorable places I’ve visited throughout my life, from exciting cities to peaceful villages to natural wonders. Each marker represents a place I’ve been to, whether it’s a bustling metropolis, a peaceful village, or a natural wonder. Not only are these places geographically significant, but they also hold personal memories and experiences. The color and type of markers may indicate different categories.
The map can also serve as a travel journal, a visual representation of how far I’ve come in terms of exploring the world. Each marker has a story behind it, connecting the past to the present. The map can also serve as inspiration for future travels, a reminder of how much of the world I’ve seen and how much more I have to discover.
To create this page, I used the PRO version of the WP Go Maps WordPress plugin, as well as my digital photo collection that preserves my memories. You can read about other technical details here.
My map was completed on 2024.12.21, the day I put this blog together. It was an exciting job for me. I also had a long-standing desire to have a system that would show my travels so far, but my original idea was to have the markers on a wall. Since I am now preparing for a trip where there will be no wall to complete it on, and since I have a digital lifestyle ahead of me, it was a given that I would make it in digital form.
Incidentally, I stuck a map on the wall of my living room, which would have been suitable for this.
