I’ll start with an old, classic Pokolgép quote: On my body, the mark that burned into me…
I didn’t want to give a big explanation behind the image. As I wrote in the post titled “Om,” “Om became a message for me here: a reminder that all states of existence are part of a single whole, and that the journey takes us not only through places but also through states of consciousness”
For some reason, I felt like I wanted to always feel this symbol close to me. So I didn’t give this question much thought. A week ago, I went to Pisit, who I had inquired about the details of the tattoo two days before. I went with the intention of discussing the specific size and location of the stitch, plus setting up a time. After the size and the appropriate skin area were selected, Pisit asked the question regarding the time: When? Now?
So I didn’t make an appointment. Instead, I took a seat in the tattoo chair. Of course, before that, Pisit drew the figure on an indigo paper, cut it out, and stuck it on my hand. After he disinfected it and shaved it a little.
You noticed that the master’s name is Pisit. I told him that one of my nicknames is Pisti, so we only need to change two letters so that our names match.
The work took about an hour. I took care of this skin area for the past week, diligently applying cream. Because it’s too hot here in Thailand to protect the finished work with foil. After a week, I’m just happy with the finished work. And I’m waiting for my hair to grow out.
Nomen est Omen
I was talking to the red-haired, boxy lady of my heart yesterday. And suddenly she discovered a hidden trace in my life. My real name is István Krisztián (yes, I have two!), yet most people know me as Soma. That’s how they call me in the family too. It’s no coincidence, my acquaintances have called me that since 1989. Or at least most of them have. In ’89 I was 13 years old, so that’s how long I’ve been Isti, Pisti, István. Pista. From then on, Soma, which – no matter how I look at it – is 36 years. In other words, I’ve been Soma more in my life than István.
That’s all about my incognito!
I’ve been asked many times how I became Soma. I got this name after a dog. There was a supporting character in the Tom & Jerry comics. Soma, the dog. In the 7th grade of elementary school, my classmate – in medias res – said during one of the breaks: “You should be Soma from now on!” That’s how I became Soma…
The explanation the day before yesterday is that in this way Om has been here in me for a long time. S Om a.
And, if I look now, it’s also there twice in the expression Nomen est Omen…
If the name is anything to go by, then this was a very lucky blessing/coincidence in my life!
