Summary
You can read some interesting examples of what “coincidences” have happened to me recently.
The concept of synchronicity is used in psychology, and was created by Carl Gustav Jung in the 1920s. Jung called synchronicity a “significant coincidence,” a mysterious harmony between events that are in principle unrelated.
Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, a Hungarian-American psychologist who won the Széchenyi Prize, is the creator of the psychology concept of the flow experience, or a very focused state of mind. Flow is a state when a person is completely immersed in the activity they are doing. The sense of concentration and control is very high at this time, and it feels like an energy bomb, as if everyday problems have disappeared, and their worries have faded into the background.
In recent weeks, I have noticed quite a few times that just when a topic, a thought, or a task is forming in my mind, I receive a call, a message, a thought from somewhere else that provides feedback on the topic that is preoccupying me at that particular moment.
I would like to give you some examples.
At the beginning of December, I met a friend with whom I spend the afternoon every Tuesday, talking and doing some kind of physical exercise. We walk, bike, kayaking, lift weights, etc.
A week earlier, I first told him that I was formulating a plan to leave. On that day, I was able to tell him about quite a few specific things that had been formulated in me over the course of a week. After he saw the seriousness of my intention, he said, “I can help you with this, if you want to live in Thailand, I can introduce you to a friend of mine who lives there and has serious connections.” That was my first sign of Thailand.
The next day, one of my friends, upon hearing my plan, told me that he and his partner had bought an apartment in a Mediterranean country. I had read about this Mediterranean country in the previous days, and I had even planned to go there as my holiday destination next year, with the intention of seeing what life was like there.
A week later, I called a friend to tell him the details of my upcoming plan, and to ask if he knew anyone who might be interested in telling me something. “We are looking for someone like you. But maybe we should spend three months in California in May.”
The day I first announced my plan to move, I received a message. “We are visiting Hungary at the beginning of December, will we meet?” Of course, we met, and I learned a lot about what it is like to live as a Hungarian in England.
These days I’ve been working on specific ideas and plans. It’s no coincidence that I found educational sites, people, and task lists on the subject. AI also helps a lot in preparation.
Among the educational materials, there was, for example, TED material that helped with spiritual support – how strange, isn’t it?
The preparation, the search for things to do, the constant thinking about the topic brought results.
I realized over the weekend that I had entered a state of flow.
I have had many exciting and beautiful jobs in my life, but this preparation seems to be the most beautiful and exciting. This kind of immersion really gives a sense of control and helps to see other problems differently. I have read that the flow experience occurs in a positive mental state, and accordingly I am happy to say that my positivity indicator is in the green range according to an external measuring instrument.
