“I have never been a proud Hungarian” – A shocking confession from Lajos Kassai.

A video with this title was released 3 months ago.

Lajos Kassai is the man whose voice I have been listening to for years.

Until now, I have not been able to articulate why he is interesting to me.

Just feelings

Here and now I don’t want to deal with who Lajos Kassai is. Countless sources present him, the answer is just a click away.

There is only one important thing in my story about him. When I first got to know his first thoughts, I was immediately influenced by him.

To this day, I can’t explain exactly why.

But if I seriously look for the answer, a few thoughts come to mind that perhaps give an answer to spiritual closeness. I think we are similar. Not in our notoriety or our achievements. I recognize myself in his views on the world.

Kassai holds views that – I think – have been in me for a very long time. As an instinct, not as an unspoken principle. That’s probably why what I heard from him affected me from the beginning. Today, these feelings have become expressed (basic) principles in me. Today I not only feel that I like this man’s thoughts, but maybe I can even tell you why.

He takes responsibility for himself. I do the same now. Discipline and freedom are not opposites for him. I dare to hope that they are not for me now either. He doesn’t want to please everyone. Do I have to say anything about this? He created something out of nothing. This is a very serious weight in Kassai’s life. I also feel like I am on this path now. Although the chances of creating something as wonderful as his are slim, I will do everything in my own way. In order to create something.

And the most important feeling I have is that he lives what he says. This is a very, very authentic thing. I live it too. And I say a lot of things. And now I really believe that these two things are the same for me.

I connect to thoughts

My previous blog’s working method was to analyze other people’s writings based on my own perspective. That is, I wrote my own notes next to the sentences that were said.

I wondered if this had a right to exist on this blog.

I decided that it did. For two reasons.

The first is that I wanted to immortalize my previous realization about myself. His thoughts give me an excellent opportunity to express my opinion in a different way than I usually would – reflecting on them, connecting to them. I am not sure that I would express what I think so characteristically.

On the other hand, in this article I would also like to express my respect for him by showing a few of his thoughts. After all, I have come closer to my own world through his thoughts.

If we could meet in person, I would say something like this:

“Dear Lajos Kassai! I thank you with a grateful heart that your thoughts have helped me understand the world better!”

The sentences are from the video below. Before each sentence, I indicate approximately where it is found in the recording. I start my own thoughts with a # sign.

3:07 I think that I was not born into this world with a blank slate. And my spiritual content and the roots of this people are somehow on the same wavelength. So everything I have achieved in life is due to the fact that with this spiritual content, this attitude, I was born Hungarian and for Hungary.

# I have expressed similar feelings about the values, “resources” that I feel within myself. I called and still call this a blessing. The energies within me are not proof of my excellence. I consider them a gift in my life. My connection with Hungary is absolutely different. Or is different now. I cannot predict the future.

5:33 And you know, I can’t imagine a more heartwarming feeling than when these 3-400 people, or in a given case, when we’re hosting a world championship or a big competition, 1,000 people turn around and there’s no trash left. So 500 people leave and not a single discarded tissue is left.

# I feel like Lajos Kassai has energies that others feel too. They treat him with respect. In my eyes, the sign of this respect is the lack of littering. The world needs more energy-source people like him. We could all be them, for example.

8:37 I think we’ve turned everything that can be turned against each other, and this is an irreparable mistake. So we’ve turned East against West, we’ve turned the countryside against the city. We’ve now turned men and women against each other. We turned the different political trends against each other. So we mixed up everything we could. And I think the media has a very big role in this, because today we need something loud. And harmony is not loud.

# Political turning against each other is one of the reasons why I don’t live in Hungary today. That’s why I can really agree with this. The statement that harmony is not loud was a new wording for me. But I immediately put it aside.

10:26 This means that in the 19th century we knew, say, 200,000 chemicals, which at first glance sounds like a lot. Today, there are 200 million chemicals.

# This is obviously not an opinion, but a piece of data. I don’t want to check it, it’s irrelevant. I highlighted it because of the importance of the magnitude. I think we have something to think about.

13:49 So the big problem for man is that the form can be followed, he can inherit the formal structures, he can create them, and after a while the form itself makes access to the content impossible. A permanent problem for all systems, even churches, is that the church structure that they created, and created with the best intentions, with the best efforts, will after a while prevent them from meeting God, and then the whole thing has to be thought over again and again. But then this is a human story and a human destiny.

# Incredible. This line of thought is one of the cornerstones of my philosophical system. I hope I will have the opportunity to present it someday. In any case, it is worth paying attention to this thought of Kassa. Which is the system, or to put it another way, who is the person that a single system can make happy? There are such systems and people, I am sure of that. But I have a feeling that the phenomenon is not very common.

15:35 I don’t think I belong to the camp that has to do everything to react.

# I do. Or, if I don’t react to everything, maybe more than I “should.” But I’m working on myself.

19:18 Here, an average person like me has to keep in mind whether to let politics into his life or not. And I said that it shouldn’t be allowed here. So, culture and sports cannot afford to let politics in.

# I agree with this very much. I would add that we should list quite a few more areas of our lives where politics should not be present. I admit that politics has a rather toxic, soul-destroying effect on our lives. It separates us from reality, from others and from ourselves.

27:50 Let’s play with the idea of a giant poster. Now, if there was one thing I could immediately erase from the country, from souls, it would be the giant poster. So I wouldn’t have allowed it here, and I wouldn’t have, because a lot of people look at these giant posters as if they were some kind of ethical problem. This isn’t an ethical problem, this is a serious legal problem. Because I have to look, you know?

# I agree with this wholeheartedly. It’s very, very difficult to direct my attention to valuable things. Whether I want to or not, in many cases other people tell me what to look at, what to pay attention to, what to feel. It’s incredibly difficult to direct my attention of my own free will in this noisy world. We could also think about banning a lot of other things.

32:26 So the picture is probably false, my picture of this person is probably false, and nothing else can overwrite that except personal encounters.

# I’ve been planning to write about judgment for weeks. That’s why this idea, which I agree with, obviously caught my attention. Let’s see what I can write about this topic.

41:29 And I met someone who could be said to be chemically pure.

# Here Kassai is talking about the fact that no one is perfect. No one is just this or that. I think this kind of clarity is very important. This can be the basis for acceptance and respect. How many times, how many times do we see that someone is being tried to alienate others by finding and forcing them to the point where this “chemical purity” is shaken, and the whole person and system are already covered in a wet sheet. It would be good to see beyond these distortions.

57:33 I always believe that we can do something, that if the intention to improve is there, then it will be better.

# I consider this idea unnecessary to comment on.

58:06 So if we don’t speak differently and we can maintain this in the long term, then we have already done something. If we start talking differently, then something bad will start.

# For me, the most important idea in the whole conversation. Talking the way we live and keeping it that way. It seems like an incredibly difficult task. Yet, we have to try again and again.

58:51 My needs and my abilities don’t hurt if they are in harmony.

# Maybe I’ll explain this in more detail in a later article. I consider this issue to be one of the biggest problems in our world.

59:50 and 1:04 We start paying attention to what is beautiful and good. To the little things. And I know that there are a lot of these things. This is a tiny thing. This is a tiny thing. The fact that something happened, these people were very enthusiastic about it. This is beautiful, this is nothing. This is a minute. This is a minute in the news. Many such one minutes are needed. I think that with these one minutes, one hour could be filled every day, and people would see a positive image

# These thoughts are the basic ideas of my project “The Miracle Is Already Here”. I am extremely happy that we see this in the same way as Lajos Kassai.

I was a proud Hungarian

Lajos Kassai said he was never a proud Hungarian.

But he was born Hungarian, he sees fate in this and lives this fate with honor and works. For others. By example.

I was also born Hungarian. There was a time when I was proud of it. Then the pride was lost. Unlike Kassai, I have not yet found fate in being born Hungarian. I am now living my birth on Earth in my feelings.

But – for the happiness of all Hungarians – I trust that I will be a proud Hungarian one day in this life.
